Nature's calling... it's time to reconnect
Here at Nopla, looking after nature and the environment is at the heart of what we do. We need to look at the delicate balance of our ecosystem, which is why we took steps to make sure Nopla gum was a better alternative for the environment that your regular gum. Regular gums which contain ingredients that make it impossible to biodegrade, which means it will stick around forever. Not Nopla. Nopla gum is completely plastic-free and made up of only 6 plant-based ingredients and all of our packaging is 100% recyclable.
So, why is all this important? We only have one environment. One planet. It is important that we make a difference. Not only is it important to respect and look after our environment, to protect nature and wildlife, it’s also for the psychological and emotional health aspect. Nature is an important factor in our connection to our own personal mental health. It’s one of the reason’s the Mental Health Foundation chose Nature as their theme for mental health awareness week.
After the last year, many people turned to nature for solace and comfort. From long walks to exercising outdoors, nature became a central part of that little bit of normality we all tried to keep. Nearly 45% of people have said that being in a green space had been vital for their mental health.
Whilst it’s important to look after nature, it’s important to also connect with it. What are the different ways we can connect with nature? Check out what the Mental Health Foundation suggest:
1. Find nature wherever you are
From your garden, to the park or a nearby forest, nature is all around us!
2. Connect with nature using your senses
Take in all of the sounds, the smells and the feel of nature. Its therapeutic.]
3. Get out in to nature
Visit "green" spaces like parks, gardens or forests – or "blue" spaces like the beach, rivers and wetlands.
4. Bring nature to you
Bring nature to your home, whether it be with house plants, garden plants or an allotment. You can even watch nature programmes as a way to enjoy nature, if being hands on with planting isn't your thing.
5. Exercise in nature
Go for a walk. Go for a run. Go for a cycle. It's a great way to de-stress.
6. Combine nature with creativity
Bring together your creativity with your natural environment. This could involve taking part in creative activities outside, like dance, music, or art.
7. Protect nature
Taking care of something can be a really great way to feel good. And what better thing to take care of than nature?
This is something we hold dear to our heart here at Nopla. We need to embrace and protect this beautiful planet. After all, there is no planet b!
